Decriptive Text

Descriptive text is a text which says what a person or thing is like.
The social function of the descriptive text is to describe a particular person, place, or thing.

Generic Structure :

1.      Identification : identifying the phenomenon to be described.
2.      Description : describing the phenomenon in parts, qualities, or characteristics.
Language features of descriptive text
1.      Using specific participants
2.      Use of adjective
3.      Use of simple present tense

Example of descriptive text

Tanjung Kodok
Have you ever visited Tanjung Kodok? Some of you may have
to the place. Tanjung Kodok is a tourist resort in East Java that
attractive view to see. Tanjung Kodok is a beach that lies on the
month coasts of East Java. Exactly, this resort is located in Paci
Lamongan, East Java. The beach is about 25 kilometers from
Lamongan city, near Goa Maharani, another popular tourist
